When my aunt Ellin asked if I liked Prairie Home Companion, 30 years ago, I told her I did but I never got to hear it. In Athens GA we had a public radio station, in the attic of the student center at the University of Georgia. But it was all new music, hip and insufferable, I told her. She was incredulous.
By the time I saw her again, the next year, a new public radio station had been started in Athens, thanks to an anonymous donation. And I've not missed a show since. Thanks Ellin, I love it. All the more because it reminds me of you.
