Underwriting messages must follow very strict guidelines set by the FCC
The individual messages have not gotten any longer.. but
you may be hearing multiple different underwriting messages grouped consecutively together in a group
so it sounds like the messages are longer

We send renewal reminders out 3-4 months ahead of your membership expiration date so
members have time to plan for their renewal donation without a break in membership or in their Minnesota Monthly subscription.
We understand that you’re busy and remembering when it’s time to renew your MPR Membership is probably not on the top of your list – and that’s why we send out multiple reminders.
Again, if you prefer few/no emailed or mailed renewal notices, contact Member Services. We understand some members prefer one way or the other.

These stories were digitized from reel-to-reel tapes.
This project is by no means complete, and our archivists are regularly adding content.
